The one way bridge Kawakawa to Opua - water rose quickly! Tractors were able to push cars through knee deep water at the other side of the bridge. Located in Taumarere - we were one of the many pockets of people cut off on our own flood made island!

Yes - I am finally blogging. Introducing - Daniel Stratford - the Chef behind those luscious Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins... and the yummy chilli mussels... mmmm

In case any ones interested Dan kick-started his career in Hospitality through AUT. Then he went on to work at Sky City as a Commi Chef. On our return to Kawakawa he worked at Copthorne Waitangi. Our son Jordan was only 4 months old when Dan decided he wanted to buy The Trainspotter Cafe and be his own boss. Jordan's going to by 5 years old this year and we're still here!
